We are proud to host prominent Bucks County artist, Nancy Lloyd. Nancy plans to demonstrate, through a series of paintings, her method of layering colors. She will show how she starts a painting and then show how the painting progresses as transparent colors are added once the layer dries. She will also show her new approach of trying acrylic inks as underpaintings and using pearlescent paints on rediscovered monoprints from her flat files. More information about Nancy can be found on her website at https://www.nancylloydfineart.com/.
Does anyone have any ideas on artist presenters for our monthly meetings? You may know of or have contact with ones we have not had before. If you do, please contact Diane Hutchinson. Also, let her know if there is a particular medium you would like to see presented.

TUESDAY PORTRAIT PAINT-IN WORKSHOPS
Think about coming to our Tuesday Paint-Ins in January! A certain amount of consistent study with a live model keeps your eye and hand well trained. Nothing to be intimidated about; we all just go to practice. You need to bring an easel; (we do have tables), a choice of medium (if you use oils, bring an odorless mineral spirit or Gamsol.) Oil and Acrylic will need a drop cloth. Sessions will begin on January 6 and continue every Tuesday until the end of April, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30. Location: College Hill Moravian Church, 72 W. Laurel St., Bethlehem. If you wish to be our model or help out for a session, contact Chair Sue Thistle.
WEDNESDAY PLEIN AIR PAINT-OUTS
Our club is still painting outside together but this is the last month for paint-outs, meeting around 9:30 a.m. (directions were in your April newsletter or email Steve Russell [email protected]). On rain-out days you have the option of painting the next day at public locations (private farms are Wednesdays only). Check our Facebook page to confirm cancellations.
Meet at the location site with the others, and then spread out to paint, others will then know they are not alone on the premises. Addresses in April newsletter.
WEDNESDAY OPEN-STUDIO PAINT-INS
Work on your own unguided art projects, at your own pace, with the camaraderie of other artists. Sessions are every Wednesday ALL YEAR ROUND from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please contact Ilene if you would like to join and get on her email list. [email protected] or 267-884-1962.
Cancellations: Lower Saucon School District Facebook, Channel 69 WFMZ, or Ilene’s emailed note.
Location: (Click on this address to get a map of the area.) Seidersville Hall, 3700 Old Philadelphia Pike, PA 18015. Lower Saucon Town Hall Municipal Building & Police Station are in the same complex, so plenty of parking. Also, once inside it is up the stairs on the right. They have ramp facilities at the side door.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
The Paintout Chairperson needs someone to step up and take over this year.
It can be an individual or a pair of people. Please call Steve Russell at 610-844-7686. Your tasks would be:
- Evaluating new locations and getting directions correct for the listing.
- Contacting owners of private locations, where necessary, to get an OK and date set.
- Updating the annual paint-out listing for the April newsletter.
- Arrive in the morning to put out a sign at the location entrance.
